Q: Is this subscription appropriate for a 12 year old? I see the age range is 8 to 12 which is a big range in reading level and maturity. I just don't want to end up with books that are too young. TY!Asked by Michelle W., November 2022

Great question! The books included in our tween box are middle-grade novels, which generally state they are for the 8-12 age range. We do have many 12 year olds (and older) who subscribe and are very happy with the books and contents each month! I would suggest checking out the shop page on our website, which shows many past boxes, giving you a better idea of what is included monthly. Great question! While our full size boxes include lifestyle items that would be best suited for girls, our gender neutral option does not include such items, and is perfectly suitable for boys or girls. I hope this helps, but please feel free to reach out directly with more questions!

Hello,
Great question! Books are always brand new, and we send a mix of both hardcover and paperback. The lifestyle items included in boxes are a wide array of items, ranging from unique bookmarks, to bath bombs, stationery, tote bags, and even an occasional fun snack. Our full/mini boxes will occasionally have an age appropriate beauty item (maybe a lip gloss or body spray), but our gender neutral version will not. I hope this helps! Hi Rachel, thanks for the great question! Unfortunately you can not select genres, as each box receives the same book(s) every month. However, we can guarantee that books and items will be age appropriate. If looking for a specific genre, we suggest heading to our website where we offer many one time boxes, and you will see all books/items listed prior to purchasing. My 12 year old daughter wanted a book box subscription, but so many options available on the market have adult content books that I cannot trust for her age. I was worried that this item may be too "baby" for her, but the first box was a big hit! I purchased this box for my 12 year old granddaughter. The first box was great--she loved it, especially the books. I was very disappointed in the second box as we are a christian family and it came with a book that does not align with our religious beliefs regarding same sex attractions.
I would kindly recommend that you alert the customers regarding sexual book content, especially in consideration of this age group and the fact that previewing and censoring is not available prior purchasing or gifting. Or perhaps it would be best to just not include books that are not appropriate for everyone. I am sorry for the low rating as it is a well put together box, but it is no longer for us which the rating indicates.

January "Hungry for a Good Book" box

February boxes will have a "Travel the World in a Bool" theme! Our book of the month is PENCILVANIA. April's theme is "Books and Besties". Inside you'll receive books about friendship, and great items to use or share with your besties. Items such as a tic tac toe game(pictured) with pieces to accompany our book of the month, postcards to color and share with friends, and friendship tokens (in full box only) to remind those you love how important they are. May Box
May's box theme is "plant your story" and will feature books and items with a garden and nature theme! Our book of the month is "Hello from Renn Lake" by Michele Hurwitz. Spoiler items include a rice and lavender eye mask, a DIY seed bomb kit, and an avocado keychain. Full size boxes will include a total of 3 books and 8 items this month!
June box
June's theme is "A home between the pages". Box will include books and items that can be used at home. Spoilers include our book of the month, a fun family fill in book, a flamingo keychain for your house key, and pick up sticks to play with your family in a fun bookish themed wooden box!
